Gold Coast Campervan Hire was founded in 2021 by Jodie Cockerill, but the story really began several years earlier with one very special campervan called Spirit.

Spirit was lovingly transformed into a fully self-contained campervan, purpose-built for one incredible dream, a solo lap around Australia. Equipped with off-grid capability including solar power, fresh water storage and everything needed for independent travel, Spirit became Jodie's home on the road throughout her unforgettable 2018 adventure.

Like many first-time travellers, Jodie set off feeling both excited and nervous. Leaving her home on the Gold Coast, she questioned whether she had made the right decision. Travelling alone seemed daunting, and she worried about being away from her family.

Those fears quickly disappeared.

On her very first afternoon, fellow travellers welcomed her into their campsite, and she immediately discovered what so many people love about the campervan lifestyle, the incredible community, genuine friendships and unforgettable experiences that happen along the way.

That journey changed everything.

After returning home, Spirit became the centre of many more adventures, particularly camping holidays with Jodie's grandchildren. Watching others discover the same freedom and joy she had experienced inspired the next chapter.

In 2021, Gold Coast Campervan Hire was born with a simple vision: to give others the opportunity to experience the freedom of campervan travel without the cost and commitment of owning a campervan.

Today our fleet has grown, but our values remain exactly the same.

Every vehicle is fully equipped for off-grid camping with solar power, water storage, and all the essentials you need for a comfortable trip. We also offer delivery and setup within a 300km radius for those who prefer not to tow.
